From our doctor:
“With improving experience of plastic surgeons and new technological contributions to medicine, correcting deficiencies in the breast tissue is no longer a big problem in today’s world. Over the last 50 years, millions of women around the World have been going under breast augmentation surgery. Breast augmentation surgery is among the most frequently performed procedures due to the high patient satisfaction.”
Patient Profile
Patients whose breast tissue is undeveloped or underdeveloped, patients with marked asymmetry between breasts, patients whose breast volume has decreased due to pregnancy and lactation period, and patients who lost both breasts are suitable for this surgery. Completion of physical breast development and psychological maturity are important to determine the age limit. Therefore, this surgery is not recommended for women under 18 years of age.

Pre-operation
After analysis of medical history and physical examination, the technical operation criteria are evaluated to determine the operation method including the patient's requested breast size, length and skin quality. The anesthesiologist checks any obstacles before the operation and necessary blood tests are done before the surgery. In case of chronic diseases that may affect the operation, other additional tests or consultations may be necessary. If you use any blood-thinning medication it should be discontinued at least 1 week in advance the operation. Smoking can impair wound healing in some patients. There is no need to stop using drugs necessary for other chronic diseases.

Surgery Process
Breast enlargement surgery is done under general anesthesia in a hospital setting. Operation takes about 1-1.5 hours. Temporary drains may be placed under the breast to relieve excess blood.

Prothesis Life
In recent years, the new generation of implants used are lifelong. Prosthesis can be used lifelong, without replacement needs unless the patient requests removal, larger or smaller replacement or emergence of chronic complications.

Breast Implant and Pregnancy
Breast implants do not affect getting pregnant or breast-feeding after pregnancy. There are no side effects on the infant. However, multiple pregnancies and lactation processes, hormonal irregularities may cause sagging in the breast tissue.
Breast Implant and Cancer Risk
There is no significant difference detected in terms of risk of developing breast cancer in women with prosthesis and without prosthesis. Prostheses are therefore not a risk factor for developing breast cancer. Today silicone breast implants are widely used in all countries around the world. However, whether you get breast implants or not, it is important to undergo regular screening for breast cancer. Prostheses do not constitute problems for screening such as Mammography, Ultrasound or MRI done for detecting breast cancer.
